Soyabean Oil is vegetable oil included in parenteral nutrition for debilitating conditions, in combination with other substances. It is used topically as an emolient for dry skin
Indications
Soyabean Oil is primarily indicated in conditions like Edema, Inflammation, Oedema, Wounds.
Contraindication
Soyabean Oil is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Soyabean Oil, which give rise to further complications include Cyanosis.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Soyabean Oil are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Fever, Dyspnea, Chills, Nausea and vomiting, Chest pain, Backache.
Warnings
Intravenous soya oil emulsion should not be given to patients with severe liver disease, acute shock or when the ability to metabolized fat may be impaired. It should be used with caution in patients with pulmonary disease, renal insufficiency, diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, sepsis, and some disorder of blood clotting.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

Note: The initial infusion rate of the nutrient admixture in adults should be the equivalent of 0.1 g fat/minute for the first 15 to 30 minutes of infusion. If no untoward reactions occur the infusion rate of the nutrient admixture can be increased to 0.2 g fat/minute. If the patient has no untoward reactions, the dose can be increased on the following day. The daily dosage should not exceed 2.5 g of fat/kg of body weight. |
