Niclosamide is anthelmintic agent. Niclosamide is a salicylamide derivative. Niclosamide is used in the treatment of tapeworm infections.
Indications
Niclosamide is primarily indicated in conditions like Helminth infection, Tapeworm infection.
Contraindication
Niclosamide is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects
The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Niclosamide include Fever, Increased metabolism.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Niclosamide are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Pruritus, GI adverse effects, Light headedness.
Warnings
It should not be used in hypersensitivity, pregnancy and lactation.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Neonates.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
